3 European research centres for HLT

7 05 2008

Here we have 3 main eurupean research centres for HLT:

In my opinion three research centres on Europe which contain information about their work are the following:

  • The Stanford Natural Language Processing Group:  is a team of faculty, postdocs, and students who work together on algorithms that allow computers to process and understand human languages. Our work ranges from basic research in computational linguistics to key applications in human language technology, and covers many different areas.
  • Lengoaia Naturalaren Prozesamendurako IXA Taldea:  IXA Taldea which was created at the University of the Basque Country is promoting the modernization of Basque by means of developing basic computational resources for it. That is an important advance because it would be great that Basque could have more reference pages and more information in as the most of the articles, technology etc is usually available only in English.
  • Edinburgh Language Technology Group:  is a research and development group that has been working in the area of natural language engineering since the early 1990s.  We have worked in all areas of large-volume text handling, from text annotation through markup architectures and from information extraction to automatic or computer-assisted generation of text.
